04/16/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/16/16 13:10 Basic Information: Pepper is a young cat that is being surrendered with his brother Manny. The owner feels overwhelmed and unable to care for animals at this time in their life. Pepper was altered and vaccinated this year (no vet records given). Socialization: Pepper would go visit his brother (who lived with the cousin of the owner) on cat play dates. He is somewhat timid around strangers but will warm up after a while. He spent time with a 6 year old when he would visit Manny. He was relaxed and playful with the 6 year old. The only other cat Pepper interacted with was Manny and they would get along and play during the visists. He has never interacted with a dog. Behavior: Pepper would attempt to scratch furniture and jump on counters, but was never given a scratching post or a place to jump high. The owner would tether him in the living room with a harness during the night when she could not watch him (to prevent him from knocking items down). Pepper is very calm during baths, nail trims, and being placed in a carrier. He loves to be brushed and will run to his owner whenever the brush is brought out. He always uses his litter box and has no accidents For a new family to know Pepper is a very high engergy cat and loves to play. He follows his owners around when in the house. He loves to play with balls and felted mice. He uses an uncovered litterpan (owner tried a cover litter pan and Pepper would just fall asleep inside) and clumping litter. He is fed both wet and dry food (whichever brand is on sale that day) Behavior during intake Pepper was very social and allowed all handling . He let the counselor pick him up and take his photo. He was easily placed into the kennel but did not touch his wet food.
