ENRICHMENT NOTES:
08/02/17
Sitting crouched in litter box, ears forward and eyes wide. He comes forward slowly, body low, as I’m opening the kennel door. Allows petting along his head, leaning in with butt raising into the air, then look away and crouches back down into his litter box. Eyes are looking around the room, face tense. Unsure – needs more time to adjust.
08/03/17
Lying in back of kennel with a low body, tail wrapped around him. He tolerates petting along his head and body while licking his lips and retreating through his portal slowly with a low body. He peeks his head out through his portal to watch me after retreating. Not interested in treats today. I pet him gently along his head and he backs away, ears tilted and eyes widened. Nervous – needs more time to adjust.
08/04/17
Seems a little uncomfortable, lying down & pressed up against the back wall of the cage. He lip licks and seems a little unsure of it all. Eventually approaches the front, body low, looks around at surroundings. He sniffs my hand and accepts gentle pets on his head and body. Starts to relax, his body perks up, tail rises and he leans in for attention. He was a bit tense when picked up but he remained calm and allowed all handling.
