08/22/16 13:46 Basic Information Peppa is a 3 year old spayed domestic short hair who is being surrendered because owner is moving to Florida and cannot take her. Owner found Peppa when she was about three months old in front of her building and kept her. Owner stated Peppa has no medical issues and was last seen by a vet 1 year ago. Socialization Peppa is shy for days around strangers. She lived with children ages 4 and 7. She was relaxed and tolerant of them. She did not play with adults or kids. She lived with a 2 year old male cat. She was affectionate, respectful, and tolerant with him. She played in an exuberant manner with him. She also lived with a small dog. She was playful, affectionate, respectful, and tolerant with him. She has never bitten or scratched a person or animal. Behavior Owner stated Peppa has no behavior issues and slept during the car ride here. Owner has never given her a bath. She is not bothered by having her nails trimmed, being brushed, placed in carrier, or disturbed while sleeping. She will struggle if picked up. For a New Family to Know Peppa is described as shy and independent with a medium to high activity level. At home she likes to be in her favorite spot. She likes to play with balls, catnip toys, and nerf style toys. She is kept indoors only and sleeps in kid’s bed. She eats dry Friskies cat food. Owner keeps a small bowl filled at all times. She uses an uncovered cat litter box with clumping style litter in it. She scratches on a rug and furniture made out of fabric. Behavior during Intake Peppa tolerated touch and did not display any signs of aggression during intake. She did not solicit touch.

She lived with a 2 year old male cat. She was affectionate, respectful, and tolerant with him. She played in an exuberant manner with him. She also lived with a small dog. She was playful, affectionate, respectful, and tolerant with him. Also, described as shy and independent with a medium to high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Peppa looked neutral, lying down on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Peppa remained in place, relaxed body posture, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Peppa stands up in place then leaned into the assessor’s hand and appreciated petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Peppa interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
