SAFE 7/16/17 A volunteer writes: Meet Pepe: he’s a handsome young gray boy who enjoys sitting on the shelf in his cat condo with a blanket underneath him, curiously watching the action in the cat adoption room. If you introduce yourself to him, he’ll happily accept pettings and sniff your hand, but he may not get up-he’s a super chill, confident guy who seems to be very comfortable with human company but isn’t antsy or overly solicitous. His previous owner confirmed this, describing him as mellow, quiet, and with a medium behavior level. He lived with adults and kids in his previous home, and he was relaxed and affectionate with everyone, his former person said. If your kind of cat is a Buddha-like loverboy who likes being with his people but doesn’t always need a ton of attention, than you must meet Pepe today! A volunteer writes: I have a fuzzy, soft charcoal coat that makes me stand out as a model cat among scores of my brethren. I am thoughtful and interested in my surroundings and really hope you will bring me to a nice, loving home. I will bring bounds of serenity and companionship into your life!
NEW PHOTO! RETURN – PEPE is a handsome fellow who was dumped at the shelter for being destructive. PEPE will need some immediate dental care.

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:
Pepe may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home.
Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
Profile:
Pepe is friendly and outgoing towards strangers and usually approaches for a good sniff. He’s spent time around young children and is always relaxed and affectionate with them. He plays exuberantly with both adults and children and has never spent time around dogs or cats so it’s unknown how he would react. He’s never bitten another animal or human.
Pepe has never been in the car so it’s unknown how he would react. Since his owner switched the type of litter he was using about two months ago, Pepe has been peeing and pooping outside of the litterbox. His owner has never given him a bath, trimmed his nails, or brushed him. He struggles when picked up but enjoys going inside of his carrier. He isn’t bothered when awoken from his slumber.
Pepe is friendly, affectionate, playful, and confident. He has a medium activity level and when he’s ready to play enjoys tossing around balls and chasing toys. His owner loves how handsome he is and how he’s always looking outside the window like he’s curious. He follows his owner around when she’s home and has been kept indoors only. Pepe sleeps on the sofa and is litterbox trained. He usually goes in his uncovered litterbox. He scratches on furniture but has never been given a scratching post to scratch on. He eats 9 Lives wet and dry food two times a day. He loves the wet food most.
