PENNY was found in a building by someone who coaxed her with food only to pick her up, stuff her into a carrier and dump her at the shelter! PENNY is only 8 months old and very pretty. She is a bit on the shy and timid side, and although she allowed petting and handling, the ACC gave her an EXPERIENCE rating. PENNY may have been a pet left behind when her owners moved. But she doesn’t have to be left behind to die! PLEASE OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS BEAUTIFUL KITTEN. 04/11/16 11:31 Basic information Penny was brought in as a stray after being found in a client’s building. Client stated that Penny accepted food from him, and allowed him to pick her up and place her into his carrier. Behavior during Intake Penny was afraid during intake. She had flattened ears, and cried out constantly. She cried when touched, but soon allowed petting on her head. Penny ate some food, and allowed all handling to be conducted. Penny showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Reaction to assessor: Penny looks tense int he cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Penny retreats to the back, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Penny places her head down while she accepts the stroke and remains stiff in place. Placement determination: Experience Penny tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
