08/15/17 15:31 Pecan came in as a stray. Her finder stated that she previously belonged to her neighbor, but they have sinced moved and left the cats outside. The finder was able to put her in a carrier with ease. Pecan was reluctant to come out of her carrier, but once she was out she allowed counselor to pet her and was purring. She allowed for collaring and did not struggle when she jumped off the table, and the counselor had to pick her back up.

KNOWN HISTORY: Pecan was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very sweet. Easily handle able and easy to pick up. Did well for all medical procedures. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 08/16/17 Lying in back of kennel with a relaxed body. He comes forward when spoken to and allows all petting, leaning in with tail raised. Comfortable and relaxed. Doing great! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Pecan was relaxed and eating her food at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pecan comes forward and gently rubs her cheeks up against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Pecan waits by the door and is ready to interact. Reaction to touch: Pecan leans in for attention, starts to purr and allows petting all over her body. Reaction to being picked up: Pecan is calm, relaxed and has a soft body when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Affectionate, Sweet, Social BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Pecan interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
