**SAFE 07/29/16** Children can be so cruel, and poor PEARL has experienced that cruelty first-hand. This tuxie lady had been hanging out in the Bronx, where some neighborhood kids were supposedly “kicking and hitting her.” OUTRAGEOUS! The person who ultimately took PEARL to the ACC, probably thought they were saving her from something even worse at the hands of those kids—and that may be the case—but tonight, PEARL waits for the ACC to do something positively awful to her, tomorrow. This lively sprite earned an EXPERIENCE rating from the ACC and it’s noted that she is a fan of the “love bite,” which just makes her sound all the more charming. For the right foster/adopter, PEARL will indeed be a treasure to cherish over the course of her long, happy life, but that person must be found RIGHT NOW! Otherwise, the ACC euth technician will pull her out of her cage right after noon tomorrow, and that will be the end of the story…….

07/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
**UPDATE 07/24/16** Pearl accepts petting and appears to appreciate attention, but may become agitated when pet roughly or when she has had enough of petting. After a few momnets, she quickly turns and nips gently on the assessor’s hand. She continues to be social and affectionate afterwards, but her tail sways sideways and will nip again when the assessor attempts to initiate petting. Behavior Determination: Experience Pearl is social and affectionate but appears to be easily overstimulated. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Pearl becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Date: 07/22/16 Reaction to assessor: Pearl immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Pearl remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Pearl head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Beginner Pearl interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
