11/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Patricia was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Patricia was curled up in the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Patricia’s are dilated, she looks around wary of her surroundings Reaction to cage door opening: Patricia becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Patricia hisses with her ears bent flat then slowly leans away when the assessor extends his hand. She continues to hiss and shifts away from contact with her tail lowered. Her body is tense, she tries to hide in back her litter box and she doesn’t allow any contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Patricia is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
