10/22/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Patches was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Patches was lying down on her blanket near the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Patches squints at the assessor then slowly backs away. Reaction to cage door opening: Patches lowers her body and has eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction to touch: Patches seems unsure of contact and leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. She closes her eyes when pet along her body but slowly seems to warm up. After a couple soft passes she leans her head in when rubbed on her cheeks. Reaction to being picked up: Patches has a tense body when picked up then curls up in the assessor’s arms. Behavior Determination: Experience Patches may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
