Patches was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was quiet and allowed handling during her initial medical exam, but appeared shut down. Reaction to assessor: Patches was eating upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Patches looks at the assessor briefly, then resumes to eat again. Reaction to cage door opening: Patches remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Patches remains in place and allows petting on her head and body. She continues to eat as the assessor pets her and doesn’t appear to be bothered. Reaction to being picked up: Patches remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Patches interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
