*** SAFE 07/19/16 *** TLC NEEDED ASAP FOR KITTEN TRIO! Meet JUNE, KELLY and PAT, a trio of orange goodness who were taken to the ACC as strays on July 12th. These boys clearly have no one in their corner, left as they have been to face the might of the ACC all by themselves. PAT has a ruptured eye, but all three would benefit from competent veterinary care. Orange kitties have a well-earned reputation of being mellow, purring hug machines and there is NO reason to think this crew would grow up to be anything other than that! These guys can be adopted directly, or they can be fostered through a NEW HOPE rescue, and the critical time for them is RIGHT NOW. They each need a foster/adopter to step up for them RIGHT NOW, or they will each be killed—without sedation—-by the “shelter” during lunchtime tomorrow. Please advocate relentlessly for JUNE, KELLY and PAT tonight!

07/16/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pat was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Pat was curled up in his litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pat has wide eyes, looks around his environment but doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Pat is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Pat is hesitant of contact and leans away as you approach him. He closes his eyes when pet and tries to move away from contact. Reaction to being picked: Pat is a bit tense when held but allows all handling. Please note that Pat is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Experience Pat may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
