OZZY – A1106197
Safe - 3-20-2017 Brooklyn
SAFE 3/20/17 Ozzy is a beautiful cream-coated fellow who fares on the shier side but opens up with some gentle head rubs and cheek scratches! He was found stuck in an exhaust grate of a building, so he’s understandably been a little shaken up! He’s been spending his days in adoptions, but all the hustle and bustle has kept him towards the back of his kennel where he can keep an eye on things. This lovely boy would love to go to an experienced kitty home who knows that with a little patience and understanding Ozzy could shower everyone with a lifetime of affection!

Behavior::
KNOWN HISTORY:
Ozzy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
03/15/17
Squeezed in the back corner of his cubby, nervous. He was hesitant of contact, but accepts petting and closes his eyes. He slowly eats some treats when coaxed, but seems wary of his surroundings. He warms up more with more attention, but may need some more time to fully come out of his shell.
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage recently cleaned
Reaction to assessor: Ozzy was pressed up against the back wall of his cubby.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Ozzy feels confident at the back, turns towards the assessor and slow blinks.
Reaction to cage door opening: Ozzy’s eyes widen and he becomes alert.
Reaction to touch: Ozzy is hesitant when the assessor extends his hand out and closes his eyes when rubbed on his head. After a couple soft passes along his body he leans his head in for attention and starts to open up. He feels more confident in his cubby and seems wary of his surroundings; focusing his attention on anything he sees or hears in the background.
Reaction to being picked up: Ozzy was a bit tense when picked up, lip licked and leaped back into
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Independent, Affectionate
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Experienced cat parent- Ozzy may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
