***SAFE 07/11/16*** OATMEAL IS A HEALTHY 9 WEEK OLD WHO MAY BE DEAD BEFORE LIVING ANOTHER DAY! This STRAY, little guy is of good weight and old enough, but the ACC decided on their own to make it harder for OATMEAL to get adopted, and make him RESCUE ONLY! He’s scared and needs YOU and a New Hope rescue to help him live! Offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT OATMEAL and contact a New Hope rescue! Tell them that YOU care enough for this small life…and want him to live!

Oatmeal came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Oatmeal was hissing and spitting. Reaction to assessor: Oatmeal is hiding in the back of his cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Oatmeal growls at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Oatmeal hisses, body flat. Reaction to touch: Oatmeal strikes at the assessor. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Oatmeal does not approach the assessor and does not allow handling. Oatmeal is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
