09/06/2017 AT RISK MEMO
Nylah Marie is at-risk with an experienced determination. Her previous owner reports she is friendly around strangers, however she appears fearful in the shelter environment. She becomes stiff and alert when approached for interaction, focusing on the person. She tolerates gentle petting, but she lip licks and appears indifferent. She has warmed up slightly to attention through her stay, but may still need time to acclimate.

08/28/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/28/17 14:21 Basic Information: Nylah Marie is a 6 year old, spayed, domestic shorthair. She was given to previous owner as a gift when she was a kitten and unfortunately had to surrender her due to her not getting along with the other animals in the house and his wife being ill. Socialization: Nylah Marie is friendly around strangers. She has been children from newborns to teens and is relaxed and respectful towards them. She plays gently with both adults and children. She lives with another cat that is a bit older than Nylah Marie and she was more dominant over the other cat and they never played together. She also lived with a small dog and she didn’t like the dog and would run away from it when it got too close. Behavior: Previous owner stated that Nylah Marie was having litter box accidents a few times a week. She sleeps through car rides. Previous owner has never given Nylah Marie a bath, trimmed her nails, or brushed her so he is unsure how she would react. She is ok with being picked up and put in a carrier and being disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Nylah Marie is a friendly, affectionate, independent cat. She has a medium activity level and she will answer to her name. She loves to sleep and will be in the same room as you or on her favorite spot on the couch. She loves string toys and laser pointers. She is indoors only and will sleep with you at night. She eats dry food twice a day and is litter box trained but may have accidents. She used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. She never had a scratching post but used the wall. Upon intake, she had a calm body and allowed counselor to hold, pet and put collar on. She purred when counselor held her.
