She is very gentle and loves getting attention. Her sleek black coat and pretty yellow eyes are a stunning combination. I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 09/03/2017 from NY 10458, owner surrender reason stated was ABANDON.

History : Persistant anorxia and lethargy (9/9) and 1 episode of vomiting (9/8) only, no other vomiting noted Subjective: Readily amenable to handling, will purr when pet Observed Behavior – more dull in demeanor, head down Objective T = 104.2 P = 220-240 R = 32/ne BCS 4 EENT: waxy otic d/c au (previously treated for ear mites), serous d/c and mild blepahrospasm od, mild serous d/c left nare Oral Exam: overall moderate tarter PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic, tachycardic, ssp, 5% dehydrated ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, but doughy U/G: f MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, alopecia dorsal neck, diffuse loss of muscle mass CNS: No signs of neurologic abnormalities, but mentally dull/lethargic Assessment: 1) anorexia 2) 1 episode vomiting 3) weight loss 0.6# 4) dehyrated 5% 5) serous d/c and mild blepharospasm od 6) serous d/c left nare cbc/chem results: hyperglobulinemia (5.7), mild to mod non-regenerative anemia, significant leukocytosis, severe neutrophilia, mild monocytosis UA – low sg (1.018) , trace protein, 2+ glucose (stress), 3+ leukocytes WB rads lat and vd – (lateral view accidentally deleted) – no overt foreign body, increased gas in stomach, but no distension/stacking/gas within small bowel. Behavior during intake Noche had a stiff body and was hissing and swatting, he aimed to run past the carrier’s door when it opened.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet KNOWN HISTORY: Noche was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 9/5/17- Asleep behind litter box, woke when door opened. Sat up, soft eyes and body, briefly ignored me while eating treats. Came out to main compartment when done, leaned and arched into pets, purred, ate more treats from my hand. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Noche immediately engages soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Noche remains standing with tail up at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Noche head bunts the assessor’s hand, purrs, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Noche interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
