Behavior
Nissan was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home.
Reaction to assessor: Nissan was alert at the back of the kennel with wide eyes.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Nissan looks around at his surroundings and slow blinks at the assessor.
Reaction to cage door opening: Nissan comes forward slowly.
Reaction to touch: Nissan was hesitant of contact but slowly warms up once pet. She relaxes and purrs when pet along her body.
Reaction to being picked up: Nissan was a bit tense when held but warms up and relaxes in the assessor’s arms.
Behavior Determination: Average

Ate some tuna this morning, did not eat in pm – even when hand fed/tempted to eat

No uri signs. EENT clear.

Hold spay until condition improves, gains weight

S/O: Kitten noted to be QAR/depressed on rounds, did get up and come to front of cubby purring when door opened

Offered kitten a/d, not interested, gagged – may be early signs of URI
Keeping in medical to monitor – will give SQ fluids and Cerenia this evening, recheck tomorrow
Recommend sending on temporary S/N waiver for being underweight and monitor for URI signs
