NILES – A1091967
Gone - 10-4-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 10/04/16*** NILES IS A SHY BOY WHO IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY – BUT THE ACC DOESN’T CARE – THEY WILL KILL HIM ANY WAY! NILES’ owner knew and said his cat was shy around strangers. So what does he do? Dump him in a scary shelter with tons of strangers!! And what does the ACC do? Punish poor NILES with a NEW HOPE ONLY rating because he is afraid!. NILES lived with children and was a great cat. He loved to follow his owner around and loved to play with his cat toys. Yet this owner didn’t care enough to take NILES along when he moved and instead he went to a non – pet friendly residence and dumped his cat. NILES will be just fine once out of the ACC. He is a good boy and is only traumatized by the shelter. GIVE HIM A CHANCE TONIGHT TO HAVE A HAPPY ENDING TO HIS STORY. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO ADOPT OR FOSTER NILES.

10/01/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/1/16 19:18 Basic information: Niles is a 1 yr. old male domestic short hair mix. The owner surrendered Pickles because of her landlord. Niles has no health problems and the owner has not taken him to a vet. Socialization: The owner states that around strangers Niles is very shy and fearful. Niles has lived with children between the ages of 10 and 13 years old children, Niles got along well with them. Niles has never bitten or scratched anyone. Behavior: Niles has never been bathed, had his nails trimmed. He does not mind having his coat brushed but hates being picked up and being placed in a cat carrier (he will struggle and swat the person). For a new family to know: The owner describes Niles shy and fearful cat with a medium activity level. Niles has played with rubber ball and string cat toys; he lives mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that he wants. In the home Niles will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Niles eats Pedigree brand dry cat food and is open feed. He is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Niles has never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if he will use it or not. Behavior during intake: During intake Niles was very tense with stiff body, he would not allow any handling (would growl hiss and charge the cage door). Because of the behavior we were unable to collar, take picture or scan for microchip during intake.
