Hello, my name is Netty. My animal id is #14939. I am a desexed male white cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 29-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving.

Netty is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with upper Respiratory Infection which is contagious to other cats. Behaviorally, we suggest Netty would be best suited to an experienced cat home.

Behavior Condition: 2. Blue
KNOWN HISTORY:: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: an adult Behavior toward strangers: Netty is shy around strangers and will hide. Netty will eventually come out but will not approach strangers and will observe from a distance. Behavior toward children: Netty has previously interacted with previous owner’s 3 year old granddaughter. Netty will allow the 3 year old to approach her and pet her and is relaxed around her. Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Energy level/descriptors: High Energy Level Other notes: Netty is a playful, shy, and talkative cat.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Nervous but allows all handling with no issues, did great for exam
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/30/17 Curled up at back of cubby, head down, eyes dilated, alert. Lay in place when door opened. Sniffed treats but didn’t eat. Allowed and slightly leaned into pets, remained tense, minor lip licking. Sprayed thunderease.
Cage Condition:: No change
Reaction to assessor:: Netty looks tense, remains crouched position hiding in the cage cubby during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Netty becomes alert with eyes wide open.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Netty remains immobile in place, ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:: Netty looks worried while looking around his surroundings. However, he began to lip lick while accepting the touch with no interest with the interaction.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Laid back
