Hello, my name is Netty. My animal id is #14939. I am a desexed male white cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 29-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving.

Netty is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with upper Respiratory Infection which is contagious to other cats. Behaviorally, we suggest Netty would be best suited to an experienced cat home.

Nervous but allows all handling with no issues, no growling or hissing, did great for exam BAR Clear OU/AU, nndc OP grade 1/4 tartar and gingivitis PLN wnl H/L reg, no obvious murmur, ssp, lungs clear/eupenic, no coughing or sneezing ABD snp MSK amb x 4 Integ wnl BCS 5/9 UG m/i, both testicles down Neuro alert and appropriate A:Apparently healthy P:Ok for surgery Excellent prognosis No tx needed
Notes entered for 1088. Post-surgery followup. Surgical site looks OK, but patient has epiphora OU. No sneezing or nasal discharge though – monitor.
S/O -QAR -good appetite -soft sneezing -OU: mild blepharospasm, mild serous d/c -appears eupnic A URI P move to isolation doxycycline 0.9 ml PO SID x 10 days nebulize SID x 4 days
Pre-surgical exam, anesthesia, and surgery performed by ASPCA. Green linear tattoo placed lateral to incision.

Upon intake, Netty allowed counselor to pet her chin and collar her inside the carrier. When outside her carrier, Netty allowed counselor to pet her and take a picture. She also allowed counselor to pick her up and place her in the kennel.

Basic Information:: Netty is a 2 year old female white and grey tabby domestic short haired cat. Netty lived with previous owner for 2 years and was surrendered because her owner was moving and could not take her. Netty has no injuries or health issues and has not seen a vet recently.
Previously lived with:: Netty previously lived with 1 adult.
How is this cat around strangers?: Netty is shy around strangers and will hide. Netty will eventually come out but will not approach strangers and will observe from a distance.
How is this cat around children?: Netty has previously interacted with previous owner’s 3 year old granddaughter. Netty will allow the 3 year old to approach her and pet her and is relaxed around her.
How is this cat around other cats?: Netty has not interacted with other cats.
How is this cat around dogs?: Netty has not interacted with dogs.
Behavior Notes: Netty has never been given a bath or had her nails trimmed. Netty enjoys having her coat brushed and enjoys being picked up and held. Netty is not bothered when being put into a carrier or when being disturbed as she sleeps.

For a New Family to Know: Netty is a playful, shy, and talkative cat. When at home, Netty likes to follow her owner around the house. Netty loves to chase after balls. Netty is an indoors only cat and sleeps in his cat bed. Netty was fed dry food and wet food twice a day. Netty is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box with Johnny Cat litter. Netty had a scratching post made out of fabric.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Nervous but allows all handling with no issues, did great for exam
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/30/17 Curled up at back of cubby, head down, eyes dilated, alert. Lay in place when door opened. Sniffed treats but didn’t eat. Allowed and slightly leaned into pets, remained tense, minor lip licking. Sprayed thunderease.
Cage Condition:: No change
Reaction to assessor:: Netty looks tense, remains crouched position hiding in the cage cubby during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Netty becomes alert with eyes wide open.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Netty remains immobile in place, ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:: Netty looks worried while looking around his surroundings. However, he began to lip lick while accepting the touch with no interest with the interaction.
