Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nessus was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Nessus was relaxed on his blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nessus rolls over on his side, starts to purr then comes forward and reaches out the kennel with paws. Reaction to cage door opening: Nessus is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Nessus is very sweet, allows petting all over and appreciates attention. His body is relaxed, his tail is up, and he kneads on his blanket then gently head butts when rubbed on his head. Reaction to being picked up: Nessus is calm, relaxed, has a soft body when held and nuzzles in the assessor’s arms. Please note that Nessus is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation.
