SAFE 3/4/18 **SENIOR ALERT** 18 YR OLD NENE was surrendered by his owner. Nene is suspected to be hyperthyroid. He was so scared in the carrier he urinated on himself and injured front paws by scratching to escape the carrier.

History : O surrendered Nene , other cat Spikey, and dog Dre. O got evicted.
Subjective: BAR. Vocalizing alot in carrier and throughout exam. Difficult to hold, does not like being restrained, resists and wiggles. Ok for PE, growling a bit during med handling. Before exam, p was clawing a lot in his carrier, causing his front paws to bleed a little.

Oral Exam: edentulism
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: Grade III/VI HM. NSR, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: MN
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted. Unkempt haircoat, urine soaked, front paws bleeding slightly. Thin BCS, muscle wasted.
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: normal externally

ctm at macc until transfer/adoption
recommend echocardiogram and blood work (including T4) post placement. attempted to collect for cbc, chem, t4, but p would not cooperate.
