11/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nefertiti was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Nefertiti was resting on her blanket at the back of the kennel with her tail at her side. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nefertiti lifts her head up and watches the assessor with wide eyes but doesn’t come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Nefertiti becomes alert and curls up. Reaction to touch: Nefertiti sniffs the assessor’s hand and allows petting along her body with a gentle approach. She leans in when rubbed and gives soft head butts when rubbed on her head. Her body feels a bit tense and she feels confident at the back and doesn’t get up or come forward. Reaction to being picked up: Nefertiti was a bit tense when picked up, but remains calm and looks around at her surroundings with wide eyes. Behavior Determination: Experience Nefertiti may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
