NAKI lived with another kitty and is described as confident and independent. NAKI earned a perfect beginner behavior rating with her purrs and rubs. She sounds like the absolute perfect cat to me!!! Step up for this kitty before it’s too late!

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/31/2016 from NY 10039, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME.

07/31/16 19:50 Basic Information Naki is a 1 year old male domestic short hair who is being surrendered because owner cannot take care of him anymore. Owner has never taken Naki to a vet. Socialization Naki is friendly and playful around strangers. He plays in a somewhat rough manner with adults. Naki has never been around children. He lived with a four year male cat and was relaxed and tolerant of this cat. He played in a exuberant somewhat rough manner with the cat. He has never been around dogs or any other type of animal. Naki has never bitten or scratched a person or animal. Bahavior Naki tries to escape his owner’s apartment. Owner stated he would have to go searching for him in the building’s stairs a few times. He scratches the straw style furniture owner has in his house. Naki behaved in a relaxed manner during his car ride. Owner stated naki enjoys bath time and having his coat brushed. Owner never trimmed Naki’s nails. Naki is not bothered by being picked up, placed in carrier, or being disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to KnowNaki is described as confident, assertive, and independent with a medium to high activity level. Owner really liked the way Naki looks into his eyes. Naki will follow his owner around at home. He likes to play with balls and string toys. Naki is kept mostly indoors but was allowed to go outside on the fire escape often. He sleeps under the couch. Owner feeds him Meow Mix dry food and one can of wet food twice a day. Naki uses an uncovered litter box with clumping style kind of litter. He scratches on furniture made out of straw and fabric. Behavior during Intake Naki was tolerant of all handling during intake. He purred while I collared him. He did not show any signs of aggression.

Naki’s previous owner reports he is friendly and playful around strangers. He plays in a somewhat rough manner with adults, but has never been around children. He has lived with another male cat and was relaxed and tolerant of him, also playing in a somewhat rough manner. He was reported to escape the apartment, causing the owner to search for him in the staircase a few times. He was best described as confident, assertive, and independent with a medium-high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Naki was calm and relaxed, lying down upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Naki chirps and comes to the front, rubbing on the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Naki remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Naki head-butts, begins to purr, and rubs against the assessor. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Naki remains calm and purrs when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Naki interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
