07/09/16 14:28 Mystique is a female DSH cat. She was living outside among other stray cats. Her finders were feeding her. They report that she doesn’t approach people. They trapped her. Mystique retreated in her trap. She ran around inside her trap with very wide eyes. We transferred her without handling her. I opened the bottom of the carrier and took pictures. She retreated to the back and looked around the edges of the carrier. She didn’t attempt to leave under the door. She didn’t vocalize.

07/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mystique looked at the assessor with with eyes When spoken quietly: Mystique continues to look at the assessor with wide eyes Reaction to door cage opening: Mystique attempts to flee as soon as the cage door opens Reaction to touch: Mystique allows touch through the cage door Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Mystique was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to was seeing during the evaluation. Mystique seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to flee and is extremely fearful. Mystique allows contact through the kennel door. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
