N History : Found stray with litter of 6 kittens Subjective: Nursing litter, very food motivated and apparently healthy Observed Behavior – Comes out readily when offered food, easily handled Evidence of Cruelty seen – N Evidence of Trauma seen – N Objective P = 100 R = 24 BCS 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: pink mm w/ CRT <2 s, healthy adult dentition PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact, lactating female- no evidence mastitis MSI: Ambulatory x 4, flea dirt present, no masses noted, coat otherwise healthy CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Healthy lactating female Plan: Keep with litter and allow nursing until kittens are weaned Prognosis: Excellent SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to nursing/lactating
