MYA LYNN – A1079003
Gone - 7-7-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 07/07/16*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY MYA LYNN WAS PUNISHED WITH A NEW HOPE RATING FOR HISSING AT THE BIG SCARY FAKE PLASTIC HAND SHOVED IN HER FACE!! Yes, the ACC certainly knows how to take a friendly cat and force a behavior eval to make them afraid so they can fast track them to the euth list. MYA LYNN was found in a building where the “client” and some neighbors were feeding her. She was described as friendly and allowed petting and all interaction. Sadly, MYA LYNN was tricked into trusting this “client” who picked her up, and took her to the ACC. At intake she was still friendly and allowed all handling. She was probably someone’s pet who was left behind when they moved away. BUT when the assessor showed up and spooked MYA LYNN with the big fat “assess-a-hand” which was shoved in her face, she swatted. Yep, that was all it took to fast track poor MYA LYNN to tonight’s list. UNFAIR YOU SAY? WELL WHEN WAS THE ACC EVER FAIR? YOU BE THE JUDGE. OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS SWEET GIRL AND GET HER INTO A SAFE HOME WHERE HER TRUE KITTY PURRSONALITY WILL SHINE!! NEW HOPE RATINGS ONLY MEASURE FEAR IN THE SHELTER. MYA LYNN NEEDS A CHANCE TO GET OUT TO SHOW YOU HOW WONDERFUL SHE IS!! BE HER HERO TONIGHT!! ADOPT OR FOSTER!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mya looks neutral, meowing attention when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mya remains crouched position on her cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Mya retreats to the back of the cage then repeatedly swatted assess-a-hand when attempted to pet then hissed. Placement determination: NH ONLY is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting.
