10/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mushu was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Mushu was hiding inside her feral den at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mushu doesn’t come forward when coaxed and remains motionless inside her den. Reaction to cage door opening: Mushu remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Mushu’s eyes widen and she starts hissing when the assessor extends his hand out to make contact. She tolerates petting with a slow approach, has a tense body and grumbles when touched along her body. After a couple of soft passes she shifts away and retreats into the corner then curls her body up. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Mushu tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
