06/15/17 13:02 Basic information: Munchkin is a 2 year old spayed gray tabby. Her owner got her from a neighbor as a gift; he needs to surrender Munchkin and her sister Bella because of financial problems and no available time to spend with them. Munchkin has no health problems or injuries; she has not seen a vet recently. Socialization: Around strangers Munchkin is shy at first for a few minutes; she has spent time with children ages 3 and 9 years old. Around the children she is relaxed and respectful, when playing with adults or children she is gentle. Munchkin has lived with her sister Bella and has spent time with other cats; she is relaxed, and respectful with them. Munchkin has no living history with a dog, and she has no bite history. Behavior: Munchkin is housetrained; during car rides she is relaxed. When given a bath or having nails trimmed; Munchkin is a little afraid at first, she will tense up for a little while. Munchkin enjoys having her coat brushed; she isn’t bothered when being picked up, after a few minutes she will try to get down. Munchkin isn’t bothered when being placed in a carrier or if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Munchkin’s family would describe her as friendly and independent. She has a medium activity level; her favorite activity is to play chase with her sister in the home. When in the home Munchkin likes to be in her favorite spot, she likes to play with balls and mice toys; munchkin in kept indoors only. She eats Purina gentle dry food 3 times a day; her favorite treats are temptations with cat nip. Munchkin uses a hooded litter box with clumping cat litter; she has a scratch pad made out of carpet material.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Curious, Skittish KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults, children ages 3 and 9 years old, and a cat Behavior toward strangers: shy at first for a few minutes Behavior toward children: relaxed and respectful Behavior toward cats: relaxed and respectful Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Other notes: Describe her as friendly and independent with a medium activity level. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/28/17- Observed Behavior – very fractious, hisses, lunges ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/29/17- Exploring cage, came to the front on approach, soft eyes and body. Sniffed hand between the bars, ate offered treats. Stayed at the front when door opened, but became extremely tense when touched. Crouched in place, started hissing and growling. 7/5/17 Resting in litter box, soft eyes and body. Came out to main compartment when spoken to. Sniffed hand and started rubbing against the bars. Leaned and arched into pets, purred, ate offered treats. Sat calmly when held. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Munchkin comes out to the shelf, soft eyes and body. Reaction to cage door opening: Munchkin starts to rub against the bars. Reaction to touch: Munchkin leans and arches into the stroke, begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Munchkin sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and looks around. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Munchkin interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
