03/24/16 16:00 BASIC INFO Munchie’s A1068409 previous owner had moved and left him behind in an apartment that she was renting from a friend. The new owner let Munchie stay in the apartment and would come feed it and give it water on a daily basis. Owner stated that Munchie is a sweet cat and would cry when hungry. He used a regular litter box with clay. Munchie was fed dry food from a red bag that would be purchased at Deals discount store. Munchie was described as sweet. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Munchie allowed all handling, collaring and photos.

03/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
The former owner stated that Munchie is a sweet cat. Reaction to assessor: Munchie looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Munchie remains sitting upright at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Munchie stands with tail up, head-butts the assessor’s hand, but becomes agitated with the touch then bites and hisses at the hand. She seems to be conflicted then continues to solicit more attention. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Munchie solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body he begins to bite and hiss at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Munchie becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
