***SAFE 08/26/16*** MS WHISKERS IS 7 MONTHS OLD AND SHOULD BE IN THE ADOPTIONS ROOM – BUT A COLD IS SENDING HER TO HER DEATH TOMORROW! Yes this super friendly and sweet cat will have her hopes and dreams of a real home cut short by the cruel hearted ACC tomorrow unless someone steps up to foster or adopt now. A shelter staff member writes: “Ms. Whiskers came to us as a stray, but is sweet as pie! When she first got here she curled right up in the lap of the admissions counselor for snuggles. So cute! This tuxedo beauty isn’t a big fan of the shelter environment, and can be a touch shy when you first greet her. Give her a minute to warm up, however, and she’s rolling around loving up all the attention! Ms. Whiskers will flourish in a quiet home where she can settle in to be the best love-bug she can be. Come in and meet her today!” Sounds like the purrfect kitty to me! Since being at the shelter, not only did MS WHISKERS catch the dreaded cold, but she got a bit stressed on her assessment and was punished with an EXPERIENCE rating. DON’T LET THIS WONDERFUL CAT BE KILLED OVER THE ACC’S INCOMPETENCE IN FINDING HER A HOME, OR TREATING HER COLD! CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!

08/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ms Whiskers came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Whe was relaxed and affectionate with her finder at the time of intake, and easy to handle during her initial medical examination. During her behavior evaluation, Ms Whiskers was more avoidant of interaction and startled with fast movement. She did not relax, approach, or initiate interaction at all throughout the evaluation. Reaction to assessor: Ms Whiskers is in her cubby when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Moves from the cubby into the main section of the condo, away from the assessor. Reaction to touch: Ms Whiskers moves between sections of the condo to avoid touch. She initially ducks away, then allows a few gentle pets but flinches, and shortly thereafter moves away again. Placement determination: Experience Ms Whiskers tolerates some attention and petting but appears to be fearful and stressed in the shelter. She appears a bit overwhelmed by the shelter environment and her new caretakers. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents who will allow her to warm up to her new home and new family at her own pace.
