Three months ago, a family member “gifted” MORGAN to the current owner where MORGAN didn’t get along with the resident cat…..But MORGAN is NEUTERED and BEGINNER rated!!….A volunteer writes: Morgan is a special fellow. I couldn’t help falling in love with this sweet guy, he would look up at me with his loving big green eyes, melting my heart. I enjoyed petting and rubbing his luscious body, and he would start purring away gently. He is friendly and affectionate……MORGAN is a loving fellow placed in a no win situation. Dumped by two owners and now on the kill list at the ACC. PLEASE BE THE HERO MORGAN NEEDS TONIGHT!! THERE’S A PURRFECT HOME AND PURRSON FOR HIM!! 05/20/16 15:42 Morgan is an eight year old neutered black doemstic shorthair. He was surrendered by his owner due to conflict with another pet in the home. He has been with his owner for three months and was given to owner by a family member. He is described as mellow, quiet and shy. Morgan has lived with two adults and one other cat in the home. Owner is unknown of his behavior around strangers. He has spent time with a nine year old and is described as relaxedand does not engage in play. He lived with another cat and is described as aggressive towards the cat he will bully the cat and hiss and nip when the cat gets near Morgan’s poession. He has never broken skin on the other cat. He has never bitten a person. Morgan was not bathed, had his nails trimmed or was brushed. He will struggle when held nd try to flee. He is not bothered when placed in a carrier. Morgan’s activity level is described as medium, in the home he tends to stay hidden and rarely seek attention. He has been kept mostly indoors, he eats dry food Iams brand and his favorite treat is cat nip. He is litterbox trained and uses a hooded litterbox and clumping litter. Owner stated he claws at furniture in the home and did not have a scratching post. Upon intake Morgan was calm and allowed all handling. Counselor was able to collar, scan(positive) and photograph.

05/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Morgan has lived with two adults and one other cat in the home. His behavior around strangers is unknown. He has spent time with a nine year old and is described as relaxedand does not engage in play. He lived with another cat and is described as a bully. He would hiss and nip when the other cat gets near him. Morgan’s activity level is described as medium. He has been kept mostly indoors Reaction to assessor: Morgan comes to the front of the cage soliciting attention When spoken quietly: Morgan stays at front and continues soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: Morgan remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Morgan solicits petting and attention Try picking cat up: Morgaan was relaxed while being held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Morgan was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Morgan is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
