Sweet little MORDECAI is BEGINNER rated and NEUTERED and was returned to the ACC for a URI….Not taken to a vet, returned to a kill shelter….Yes, he’s not eating…..because he has a cold. There are meds for that and ways to help him get nutrition while his appetite isn’t great….But MORDECAI’s owner didn’t do any of that. 07/12/16 18:56 Basic Info Mordecai A1078897 was returned because he has become sick. Mordecai has never had any injuries while with the previous owners. Socialization Mordecai is a great cat. Mordecai has never been around any dogs or cats. Mordecai has lived with a 14 year old and they got along great. Mordecai is very good with strangers. Mordecai will allow picking up and rubbing. Behavior Mordecai has never bitten anyone or animal. Mordecai was great and the home. Mordecai didn’t display any behavior problems inside the home. For a new family to know Mordecai is a sweet cat that would be fit for any home. Mordecai was feed wet and dry foods. Mordecai wasn’t very active ( due to his health). Mordecai liked to climb on the bed post of the previous owner. Mordecai would be a great addition to any home.

Mordecai was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He allowed all handling upon intake and during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Mordecai comes to the front and is calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mordecai meows and rubs against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Mordecai remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mordecai head-butts, begins to purr immediately, and leans in for petting. He is very affectionate and meows when petting stops and pats the assessor gently with his paws. Reaction to pick up: Mordecai remains soft and purrs when held. Placement Determination: Beginner Mordecai interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
