Hello, my name is Moonlit. My animal id is #14400. I am a desexed male brown tabby cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 22-Nov-2017.
Original Location: 11207
Moonlit is at risk for behavior concerns (Experience determination). Mango allows petting but shutters away and becomes very uncomfortable from loud noises and other stimuli in the care center.

Active, allows all handling ORAL: adult dentition, no oral lesions EENT: Pink mm, eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl HL: NMA, RR, Lungs C&E ABD: SNP, NMP INTEG: GHC, no ectos noted MS: Ambulatory x 4 UG: MI NEURO: A&A A: Apparently healthy P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. OK for surgery tomorrow Excellent prognosis

During intake Moonlits pupils were enlarged and she was meowing loudly. She allowed the counselor to pick her up with no problems. she did not allow the counselor to collar her nor take her picture outside of the carrier.

KNOWN HISTORY:: Moonlit was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on their behavior history or tendencies in a home environment. He was brought in a box with another cat and appeared to be relaxed and friendly with this cat. During intake Moonlits pupils were enlarged and she was meowing loudly. She allowed the counselor to pick her up with no problems.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior – timid but no signs of aggression
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Moonlit was lying down by the back, calm and relaxed.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Moonlit looks at the assessor, and then averts his gaze.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Moonlit remains motionless.
Reaction to touch:: Moonlit was hesitant initially and shifts his head away, but he allows petting with a slow approach and slowly lifts his rear (his tail still lowered). His ears tilt slightly, but he begins to lean in for cheek rubs and seems to like attention, but appears wary of his surroundings.
Reaction to being picked up:: Moonlit is tense during pick up, but tolerates handling.
