Hello, my name is Montgomery. My animal id is #14264. I am a desexed male black cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 10 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 21-Nov-2017.

Montgomery is at risk for medical reasons. He is a geriatric gentleman and he is not eating.

BAR scan negative male neutered allows handling apx 8 yrs old mod tartar clean EEN slightly cloudy eyes dandruff on coat matted hair on lower back removed long and slightly embebed nails on front paws trimmed obese BCS 7/9 NOSF
Patient is reported as “not eating”. Refused adult cat food (Friskies). Consumed half portion of baby food and half a can of Royal Canin Instictive Kitten food.
Administered Cerenia 0.6mls SQ, Simbadol 0.8mls SQ as per DVM. Patient was given 100cc of LRS SQ during DVM exam 11/24/2017
Administered 150mls of LRS SQ and 0.6mls of Cerenia SQ.
Two view ABX taken and reviewed by DVM. LRS 150mls SQ administered and 0.6mls of Cerenia SQ.

Inappetance-r/o behavioral vs underlying dz (metabolic vs GI) Dental disease P CBC/chem cerenia 0.7 ml SQ SID x 3 days mirtazapine 1/4 t PO once simbadol 0.6 ml SQ SID x 3 days recommend abdominal ultrasound after placement to rule out signs of chronic GI disease or neoplasia
CBC/chem performed today WNL; did not realize that blood work had been run on 11/24 and was also WNL

Montgomery during intake was calm and friendly. Allowed all handling and to be pet, however Montgomery pulled his feet away quickly if touched it appeared that his nail has curled either into his paw or close to it.

KNOWN HISTORY:: Montgomery was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on their behavior history or tendencies in a home environment. His finder reports he was shy initially, but becomes friendly after with strangers. Montgomery during intake was calm and friendly. Allowed all handling and to be pet.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior – Easy to examine
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Sitting up in cubby, soft eyes and body, head poking out to main compartment. Sniffed hand, came further out, then leaned hard into pets and purred. Ate offered treats.
Cage Condition:: Cage is recently cleaned
Reaction to assessor:: Montgomery was lying in the litter box, calm and relaxed.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Montgomery looks at the assessor and makes eye contact before approaching the front to sniff around.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Montgomery remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:: Montgomery sniffs the assessor’s hand and walks to the back, but then he comes back to the front and accepts petting. He remains calm and remains in place for petting for the remainder of the interaction.
Reaction to being picked up:: Montgomery is a bit tense with pick up, but remains calm when held.
