Scanned, no chip History : Stray Subjective: Friendly, vocalizing Observed Behavior – Friendly, allows examination Evidence of Cruelty seen – none Evidence of Trauma seen – none Objective P =180 bpm R =30 (purring) BCS 3/9 Hydration: prolonged skin tenting, mm = pink, moist – approximately 5-7% dehydrated; EENT: Eyes clear, ears mild black waxy debris AU, mucopurulent nasal discharge bilaterally noted Oral Exam: Fractured upper canines, bilaterally, missing teeth 101, 201. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs- unable to adequately auscult due to purring. No obvious crackles/wheezes ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male, intact MSI: Ambulatory x 4, live fleas noted, areas of alopecia over top of head. Small, soft raised area (approx. 1 inch in diameter) on right, lateral, lumbar region which patient appears sensitive/painful with palpation. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: NE Assessment Fleas Areas of alopecia – r/o secondary to cat fights vs. infectious vs. other URI Lateral lumbar mass – r/o previous soft tissue wound vs. orthopedic (previous spinal injury) Plan: Move to isolation Doxycycline 0.5mL PO q24h x 10 days Clip area of pain – small linear scar observed. Likely previous area of trauma. Will give Convenia 8mg/kg SQ once Capstar given once PO on examination Will give short course of Buprenorphine – 0.01 mg/kg SL BID x 3 days due to lumbar mass/pain. Attempted to give SQ fluids, however patient would not tolerate administration. Eating well on own. Continue to monitor appetite. Prognosis: Good SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to URI
