I am a male white and black domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 9 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 12/09/2016 from NY 10453, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA.

12/09/16 19:55 Basic Information Moe is an approximately 9 year old domestic short hair mix. He is being surrendered because the owner is moving to a home where pets are not allowed. He was given to the owner as a gift from a neighbor. Socialization Around strangers, Moe is friendly and outgoing. He has lived mostly adults in the home; he plays gently with adults he does not know. He has never been around other pet so the owner has no idea how he would behave around them. Behavior Moe has never had any litter box problems and uses the litter box daily. Moe struggles when the owner tries to give him a bath, he has never had his nails trimmed, enjoys brushing, does not mind being held put in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping or resting. For a new family to know The owner describes Moe as friendly and affectionate. He has a Medium activity level. Moe loves to eat and sleep most of the day. Around the house, he follows everyone around and prefers to be in the same room as the rest of the family. He has never played with any cat toys but likes to play with string. He sleeps mostly indoors anywhere in the house. Moe was being fed various name brand dry cat food 2 times a day. Moe uses an open litter box with clumping cat litter everyday and rarely has accidents. Behavior during the intake During intake, Moe was somewhat tense with stiff body. He allowed to be scanned (-) and collared, pictured and to be transferred into a cat kennel.

Moe’s previous owner reports he is friendly and outgoing around strangers. He has lived in a home with mostly adults, playing gently with them and people he doesn’t know. He has never been around any other animals. The owner reports he does not mind being held or being placed into a carrier. He was described as a friendly and affectionate cat, with a medium activity level. He tends to follow everyone around the home and prefers to stay in the same room as the rest of the family. Reaction to Assessor: Moe was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Moe slowly crouches over and walks over to the front, sniffing around. Reaction to cage door opening: Moe remains calm, but slowly walks back over to the back. Reaction to touch: Moe was hesitant of touch, but he sniffs the assessor’s hand. He was tense with petting initially, but slowly warms up and leans in for rubs, head-butting lightly and starting to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Moe was tense during pick up, wiggling to be placed back down, but allows the assessor to handle him. Behavior Determination: Average Moe interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
