10/31/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/31/16 16:02 Basic Information: Mocha is an 11 year old spayed female DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Mocha for 8 years but had to surrender due to personal problems. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers Mocha is shy for days & will stay hidden. Once she gets comfortable, she will come out of hiding but stay to herself and not interact much with strangers. She has never been around children or dogs therefore behavior is unknown. Owner does not have another cat in the home but did state that he has a few stray cats outside his house & Mocha would growl and slap the backyard door whenever she saw them. She had bit the owner when he first got her when he tried to get her out for underneath the couch but owner stated that was about 8 yrs ago. Behavior: In the car, Mocha is afraid and will meow. Owner has never tried to give Mocha a bath or trim her nails therefore behavior is unknown. She is not bothered by being disturbed while sleeping. If someone tried to pick her up/hold her, or put her into a carrier, she will struggle to get away, hiss, swat and try to bite. For a New Family to Know: Mocha is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, shy, fearful and independent with a high activity level. In the home, Mocha liked to follow the owner around, be in the same room as the owner & sit on owner’s chest. She enjoys playing with balls, string toys, wand toys, stuffed animals, catnip toys, laser pointers, cat dancer toys & chasing toys. Mocha was kept indoors only & litter box trained. In the home, she used a hooded litter box with crystals litter. Owner stated that Mocha is front declawed therefore she did not have a scratching post in the home. Owner fed Mocha dry food only brand Friskies. Behavior during intake: Mocha was growling and hissing during intake when I approached her. I was able to scan her for a mc and take her picture without any issues but was unable to collar her due to Mocha moving to the back of the carrier, tense body and lip licking.
