10/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
**UPDATE 10/30/16** Moby is not thriving in the shelter environment, and is allowing limited interaction. He hides in his den when approached, and will hiss throughout the interaction. He does not relax with attention and resists handling. Due to his fearful behavior and stress levels in this kennel environment, we recommend that he move into a stable home environment with experienced cat parents as quickly as possible. Date: 10/30/16 Reaction to assessor: Moby looks neutral, lying down her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Moby stands up in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Moby engages then slowly leans into the assessor’s hand but seems unsure and walks back towards his bedding to lay down. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Moby interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
