Medical Behavior Evaluation BLUE
Medical Summary 03/21/17 History – Transfered from Queens shelter, presented as a euthanasia request. History of vomiting and diarrhea x 3 weeks. Unclear if any medical treatment sought. Microchip pos #4451112B22. Subjective Observed Behavior – Sedated. Evidence of Cruelty seen – No. Evidence of Trauma seen – No. Objective: Sedated. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. ORAL: Mild calculus. EENT: No oculonasal discharge. Ears clean. PLN: No enlargements noted. H/L: HR=200, RR=20. Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias. ABD: No masses/organomegaly. U/G: Female, spayed appearance. MS: Fair body condition, BCS=4/9. Declawed on all 4 paws. INTEG: Excellent, full, soft and silky clean haircoat, no mats. CNS: Mentation appropriate prior to sedation. A: Per owner cat is 12 yrs – appears to be in excellent condition for that age. History of vomiting/diarrhea – DDx: dietary intolerance/allergy, IBD, SIBO, metabolic disease, liver disease, pancreatic disease. P: Euthanasia not performed due to cat’s overall excellent physical condition and good prognosis for acute vomiting/diarrhea. Schedule CBC/CHEM/T4. Cerenia 10 mg/ml 0.3 ml SQ q 24 hours x 3 days. First dose given. Metronidazole 100 mg/ml. 0.6 ml PO q 24 hours x 5 days. Bland diet. Further therapy pending lab results. Good prognosis (may change pending lab results).
