MEDICAL:
03/19/17
Recheck exam. Presented yesterday obtunded, hypothermic.
S/O: BAR. Active, very social and friendly. Drank well overnight. Offered food – started eating immediately.
ORAL: mm=lt pink, sl. tacky, CRT<2 s.
EENT: No oculonasal discharge. No sneezing.
H/L: HR=220, RR=16. Lungs clear, no m/a.
ABD/UG: Palpation WNL.
MS: Amb x 4, no lameness. Thin body condition BCS=2/9.
INTEG: Rough, dry haircoat. Dec. skin turgor. IV catheter present L cephalic vein.
A: Significant clincal improvement. Dehydration 5-8%. Underweight condition – DDx: malnutrition, parasitism, GI disease, metabolic disease.
P: 75 ml LRS SQ q 24 hours x 3 days.
Discontinue IV fluids as long as eating/drinking well on her own.
No other therapy indicated unless signs change.
Excellent prognosis.
