MISTY – A1075716
Safe - 6-22-2016 Brooklyn
***SAFE 06/22/16*** Anyone who has a bathroom, is able to have pets, and lives within 4 hours of New York City—raise your hand! Now, everyone who just did that: please lower your hand to your computer keyboard and start typing an email to [email protected] so our trained help desk volunteers can assist you with foster/adopting MISTY, a sweet young lady whose life is in YOUR hands, tonight! MISTY is a tortie, although no one would know that thanks to an ACC intake photo that makes her look like a hand puppet. She earned a perfect AVERAGE rating and has unlimited amounts of love to give, if ONLY she can live beyond noon, tomorrow. Everyone knows what’s at stake, and everyone knows how to stop bad things from happening to MISTY. But for all kinds of reasons—excuses, if you like—-almost everyone waits for someone else to step up. Hundreds of cats die at the ACC every month, waiting for that mythical “someone” to do “something.” Don’t let MISTY be next!

06/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Misty and at the time she was curious. Misty comes forward to greet. She allows petting all over. Misty brushes up and head butts hand. Reaction to assessor: Misty does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed When spoken quietly: Misty does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: Misty remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Misty allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: Misty is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Average Misty was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying calm behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Misty is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
