MISTIE – A1072541

**SAFE 05/10/16** FEARFUL! That’s the word that comes to mind when one looks at MISTIE’s photo. Mistie is about a year old, so he’s just a big kitten, taken to the ACC as a stray on May 5th. His shelter photograph is haunting, and genuinely conveys the hopelessness, fear and DREAD this young tabby must be feeling. That toxic emotional cocktail has played out in a NEW HOPE rating for Mistie. Only a foster/adopter working in concert with a rescue group can save MISTIE, tonight!

05/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mistie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Mistie is alert with wide eyes focused on the assessor. He lays motionless with his tail is curled up next to him. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mistie lip licks and turns his head towards the wall. Reaction to cage door opening: Mistie remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Mistie tolerates petting briefly then whips around and hisses. He tries to bite the assessor hand then doesn’t allow any contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Mistie is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He allows limited contact before trying to bite the assessor. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
