09/05/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Mister was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: QARH. Tense but allowed all handling, no attempts to flee EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Mister was tense and lying down underneath his kuranda bed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mister avoids eye contact then shifts away and curls up inside his litter box. Reaction to cage door opening: Mister is alert. Reaction to touch: Mister lip licks, his eyes dart around and he leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. He flinches slightly when touched but tolerates petting along his body as long as you go slowly. He’s very wary of his surroundings and stays at the back of the cage where he feels comfortable. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced, adult home only – Mister tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
