10/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mindy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder was able to place her into a carrier and bring her to the care center. She attempted to flee upon intake and during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Mindy had a low body posture and was hiding behind her litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mindy shifts her body slightly and her ears tilt sideways. Reaction to cage door opening: Mindy remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Mindy was hesitant of contact, but remains immobile and tolerates petting on her head and body. Her body is tense during the interaction and she looks around at her surroundings, wary. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Mindy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
