Very recently, there was an episode where MINDY scratched one of the kids and was sentenced to the ACC without benefit of legal counsel or trial…..Do we know what happened? No. But we do know what will happen if someone doesn’t take MINDY’S defense before noon tomorrow……MINDY is only two and she is not yet spayed….perhaps part of the problem. 04/15/16 14:06 Basic Information Mindy was brought in as an owner’s surrender. Owner has had Mindy since she was just three months old. Owner says Mindy does not have any injuries or health concerns, but also has never been seen by a vet. Socialization & Behavior Mindy is said to be initially shy with strangers. Owner says that she’ll hide but will eventually come and head-butt them. She lived with children ages 4, 10, and 14. Mindy is described as playful and comfortable when interacting with them. Mindy briefly lived with another female cat ad owner says the two were tolerant of each other. Owner says there was an incident last night where Mindy scratched her owner’s daughter. It occurred when the owner’s daughter leant her head over the bed as Mindy was in the process of lunging at her. Mindy is said to be relaxed during car rides. Mindy does not like brushing but will deal as long as she’s held in place. Mindy is unbothered with being held and is unbothered if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know Mindy is described as friendly, mellow, and shy with a medium activity level. When home she is normally following her owner and likes to play with random household items. Mindy was indoors only and sleeps in bed with different family members. Mindy was free fed dry food, and received wet as a snack. She does well with the litter-box and never has accidents. She scratches on one of owner’s walls, and occasionally owner’s couch. Behavior during Intake Mindy was initially friendly during intake. She allowed petting, and allowed counselor to pick her up out of client’s box. Wen being photographed she begins hissing and backing away. When counselor opened her carrier she began swatting at the carrier, and swatting at counselor’s hands when attempting to close the carrier.

Mindy’s former owner stated she is initially shy with strangers. Owner says that she’ll hide but will eventually come and head-butt them. She lived with children ages 4, 10, and 14. Mindy is described as playful and comfortable when interacting with them. Mindy briefly lived with another female cat ad owner says the two were tolerant of each other. Reaction to assessor: Mindy looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mindy engages the assessor’s hand, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Mindy began to head-butt and appreciate the petting on the head and body. However, after a few strokes she becomes agitated with the touch then moderately nips while she continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience Mindy tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
