09/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mickey was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Mickey was at the back of the kennel with her body lowered in the litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mickey turns towards the assessor and slow blinks but doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Mickey’s eyes widen and she flinches when the door opens. Reaction to touch: Mickey sniffs the assessor’s hand and slowly leans away upon approach. She allows petting all over her body and slowly builds confidence to lift her head up. Her body relaxes and she slowly approaches the front while brushing against the assessor’s hand. She feels confident in her litter box and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Mickey is tense when held and lip licks in the assessor’s arms. Behavior Determination: Experience Mickey may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
