***SAFE 05/29/16*** SENIOR GAL JUST EXPERIENCED BETRAYAL OF A LIFE TIME! Poor Mickey is an 11 year old blue tabby. Her owner found her stuck up in a tree when she was just a kitten, and has lived with them ever since. Now 11 years later, her ex “owners” have decided that because they’re having a new baby, they have to get rid of their “old” one! DISGUSTING! She is cautious of her surroundings in the shelter, but still leans into pettings. She’s been given an EXPNOCHILD rating. Mickey was found to have an ingrown claw on one of her little piggies, so any tense behavior may be attributed to pain she was experiencing. Like her previous “owners” the ACC have decided Mickey isn’t worth their time any more, and WILL KILL HER AT NOON TOMORROW! This little lady deserves a sunny spot to curl up in and all the snuggles her purr-son can offer, not to die in a cold room at the hands of the monsters at the shelter! Please contact the Help Desk at [email protected] and offer to FOSTER/ADOPT her NOW! Can Mickey live out her golden years with you? Can you show her what true love and loyalty are all about? Please save her TONIGHT!

05/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mickey’s former owner described her as calm, friendly and affectionate. She has lived with children aged 1 to 16 years old. Mickey is friendly with everyone in the home. She enjoys being petted and held. Mickey had broken her right front leg when she was 4 years old and can’t bend it too much since it happened. She has not interacted with other animals in the home. Reaction to assessor: Mickey looks neutral, crouched position on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mickey remains in place, stress meowing. Reaction to touch: While Mickey continues to hiss at the assessor’s hand she allows the stroke and slowly leans into the pets, but remains wary with her surroundings. Placement determination: Experience / no child Mickey tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
