Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 10-12 mos Microchip noted on Intake? no History : O/S due to her son having allergies Subjective: Cat is BARH. Observed Behavior – Readily approaches handler, immediately social and interactive (turns on back, rubs head on edge of litterbox). Little restraint needed for exam. Allows all body parts to be touched. Seemed to be startled during blood draw and tried to flee, when handler when to grab cat she turned and bit his thumb. Able to get cat out from under cages and complete blood draw with more restraint, which she resisted, but then quickly recovers. Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective T = NA P = wnl R = wnl BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Healthy adult dentition PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: confirmed female MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment: Apparently healthy Plan: Cat is being placed on DOH-B hold due to biting handlers thumb and breaking skin. Okay for surgery when bite hold is up. Acceptable candidate for adoption or rescue pending behavior eval after bite hold is up. Prognosis: Excellent SURGERY: Okay for surgery when DOH bite hold is up
