03/06/17 15:27 Basic Info MeowMeow is a 1 year old DSH who could not stay with owner due to housing complications. MeowMeow has been with his owner his whole life. He last visited a vet 6 months ago and had a clean bill of health and recieved his vaccinations. Socialization MeowMeow is aloof around strangers and usually tries to walk around or through them burt does not solicit attention and if a stranger wants to pet him you must approach MeowMeow slowly, he will flinch or hiss if strangers approach him suddenly. He has lived with one child in the house and he is relaxed around them and solicits play and likes to be in the same room as them. When he plays with the children in the home he is gentle. He is the only pet in the house but if he sees a cat outside he will hiss throught the window or try to run outside and hiss at the cat. He has not interacted with dogs before. He has not bitten a person or animal before. Behavior MeowMeow does not scratch on furniture and uses the litter box very well. Sometimes he does escape the house but he does not go far and comes back inside after a few minutes. MeowMeow is not bothered by being bathed, brushed, held or having his nails trimmed. He is not accustomed to being put into a carrier and cries and struggles. New Family MeowMeow has a medium level of energy at home and likes to be in the same room as owner and follows you around, especially if expecting food. He sleeps on his cat bed but will try to sleep in owners bed if allowed. He is fed meow mix dry food and friskies wet food. He has no accidents outside of the litter box. He has an uncovered litter box and uses unscented fresh step litter. He does not have scratch post at home. Intake Behavior MeowMeow was calm during intake and allowed all handling for scanning, collaring and photograph. He tensed when counselor lifted him up.
