I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/22/2016 from NY 10457, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-078871.

10/22/16 14:10 Basic information: Memow is a 4 year old neutred male. He was given to her previous owner by the person who owned him prior. His previous owners had him for 4 years. The last time he went to the vet was 2 years ago. He has no known injuries or health problems. Socialization: Around strangers Memow is friendly and outgoing and exuberant at play with adults. He lived with a 12 year old and with them he was relaxed and playful and gentle at play. He lived with a 4 month old female kitten and with her he was relaxed and affectionate and gentle at pay. Behavior: Memow has never attempted to bite a person or animal. He sleeps during car rides. He isnt bothered if he is given a bath or if his nails are trimmed. He enjoys having his coat brushed and being picked up. He isnt bothered if he is placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Memow is described as playful, friendly, mellow, confident, affectionate and quiet with a medium activity level. The two things his previous owner liked most about him were; he’s friendly and relaxed. When his previous owner was home he would tend to follow them around. He likes to play with string. He was kept indoors only and at night he slept anywhere. He ate dry Friskies. He is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box and pellet litter. He also used a vertical scratching post made of carpet. Behavior during intake: Memow allowed me to pet him, collar him and went in and out of his carrier easily. He showed no signs of aggression.

Former owner stated around strangers Memow is friendly and outgoing and exuberant at play with adults. He lived with a 12 year old and with them he was relaxed and playful and gentle at play. He lived with a 4 month old female kitten and with her he was relaxed and affectionate and gentle at pay. Also, described as playful, friendly, mellow, confident, affectionate and quiet with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Memow looks tense, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Memow remains in place, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Memow relaxed after the stroke then slowly leans into the assessor’s hand and began to purr while he appreciates the petting. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Memow interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
